Mein Filzbild "Tiffany Spring Flowers" wurde in der August-Ausstellung "Creative Inspiration" der Bauhaus Prairie Art Gallery auf den 3. Platz gereiht 🤗
My felt painting 'Tiffany Spring Flowers' was selected for the 3rd place in the August juried online exhibition 'Creative Inspiration' hosted by Bauhaus Prairie Art Gallery 🤗

The jurors Margaret Gaeddert and Caryl Morgan took the time to write lovely statements about the works of the award winners (which is not usually done), and it is very interesting what they have to say about a felted painting.

I am so happy that again a piece of fiberwork has been accepted in the fine art setting!

"Tiffany Spring Flowers, a fiber and felt piece by Susanne Weber (third place) anchors the creative process to natural elements. Weber uses time honored techniques of layering natural fiber to create felt but applies the craft to a most unlikely subject, Tiffany glass. Glass design seems to be the opposite of delicate fiber work but the artist shows that the art nouveau style composition can be achieved in a most unlikely medium. The iris’ at the bottom are reminiscent of post-impressionists painters like Van Gogh and Monet. The upper two thirds have the oriental elements that artists of the 1920’s were discovering and incorporating in their art. The artist also includes areas of stitching for emphasis and overall the elements combine to be a creative homage to another time and medium yet rendered in an unconventional method."
